It is generally accepted that Tango was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the neighborhood of La Boca. Genovese immigrants and Argentinians from the interior found solice in the bars and restaurants of La Boca. These establishments flourished on one of the principle streets of La Boca - Necochea Street. Necochea street, named after Argentinian General Mariano Necochea.
At the corner of Suarez and Necochea streets was the "Cafetugurio de la Baronesa" which inspired Enrique Cadicamo's tango song "Tres Amigos," which immortalized the streets of Suarez and Necochea.
"Donde andaras Pancho Alsina, donde andaras Balmaceda. Yo los espero en la equina de Suarz y Necochea." - In English, roughly translates to " Where are you off to Pancho Alsina? Where are you off to Balmaceda? I'll wait for you at the corner of Suarez and Necochea."
